• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Does anybody know if handrail bolts are still available? I haven't seen any for years and could do with 4 of them - if all else fails I could make them but a bit busy at the moment. Cheers, Merlin

    Stanley G12-020 Block plane. Sorted.

My Daughter is starting university in a few weeks and I need to gather up a tool set for her, I have got most of them but I am still looking for a block plane. The one I want is a Stanley G12-020 - it must be in nearly new condition and the early type with a cast cam lever. You can tell this...

    Sawing stool

I always use "proper" timber sawing horses/stools or whatever you call them but never remember how I made them so I made a set of templates, now when I need them they don't long to make. The metal templates are made out of brass (only because I had some), these just slip over the end of some...

    Wadkin RS

I haven't been using the lathe for a few weeks but decided to put its markings back on. I thought it would be nice so that its identity would not be lost after the restoration last winter. It is a great old lathe - maybe one day I will get the hang of it! Merlin
