• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

    Bird feed holder shelter

Sorry.i meant bird feeding shelter. I just realised I wrote box. The roof and sides are to hopefully give them a bit more privacy. Not making it a box means (hopefully) it remains cleaer as I'll have 2 hangers in there. One for worms or suet and the other for water or one of the aforementioned...

    Bird feed holder shelter

When my wife finds out what it was actually I'm making instead of repairing her cheap bathroom cabinet/basin bottom (bathroom installer coming on 13th!) or finishing/continuing my paving slabs/shed project, I'm gonna be in so much trouble. She's already been out asking why I'm not jointing the...

    What I have fixed today

Thanks @AndyT thankfully (I just checked) I got my 'new old stock' in excellent condition from Tool Bazaar for the measly sum of only £95. I started looking at replacements from TF after I'd knackered it but then decided >£120 was probably way more than I could afford at the moment (alot going...

    What I have fixed today

Not exactly 'fixed' but... After trying to recharge my massive Disston that I was using for chainsaw duties I stupidly listened to some YT channels about flattening the blade. Before that I'd just sharpen precisely against the orientation of the teeth. If that makes sense. Not changing anything...

The Bas…..s got me 11 times

Nasty things and rightfully causing fear. I usually steer clear whenever I see a wasp looking thing that looks a bit 'odd'. When I was about 12 or 13 my dad who is a big/scary bloke (and has some sort of ADHD or at least social isolation issues, but a very good dad and a very good...

The Bas…..s got me 11 times

Got a link pls Andy. When throwing a squirt does it not rile up the beggars and cause em to attack. Trying to get prepared for when I start clearing the overgrowth to repair the fence.

The Bas…..s got me 11 times

Sorry to hear about this Ian. The neighbours son told me how when he tried to clean up her garden (maybe an excellent excuse for allowing it to overrun with weeds and become a bit of a carp-fest) for her, a wasp nest was found. My plan was to soon go round and clear up the overgrown...

What Birds Have You Seen Today

No, I love it. When I was in junior school about 8 or 9 and in my prime 'artist' days. I drew a kestrel and also at some point around that age a golden eagle. Always was confused with the 2 in them days. Thanks for the extra info which I'm sure many here will appreciate too.

What Birds Have You Seen Today

Yes, I thought as much. But asked AI and it seemed to think Buzzard. But, I'm pretty certain I know a buzzard when I see one. The wings dwfo were not upturned at the ends (I think) and it was small from what I saw. Pic makes it look different though!!

What Birds Have You Seen Today

No, I meant the pic I took was a kestrel. Lol. I wasn't trying to know more about the birds in your garden. Anyway, this one (kestrel) which I managed to picture. I was actually getting the camera out for something else and had I got it out for the hoverer, no doubt it would have shot off...

Upgrading my wearing out shed - in stages on a budget

Right then. Managed to get one level of bricks at the front yesterday, but then the wife answered the phone to work so had to go and look after a few people. Got this far but with sharp sand instead of building sand for the mortar!! One of the lads was a builder by trade (that I was looking...
