• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

    With some sadness

Well guys, it is with some sadness that I have to announce I am giving up the business. Work has been slow recently and after a fall from a ladder I jarred my back and had to have some time off. Money is tight and rather than delve into my pension I am getting a job again, light duties but not...

I got this finished the other day. My customer had seen a similar one I built and asked for this with provision for files in the two bottom drawers. He also wanted it transportable so the top and upper drawers are separate from the pedestals. It is made in AWO with a 2 pac clear finish. Drawer...

More under stairs work (finally fitted)

I started this job on Monday. It is another set of pull out under stairs cupboards. I took a template of the stairs last week which you can see in the background. I then made the face frame up allowing for some trimming when on site. With these being such large units I am making frames to...

    Finally!

I am very happy to say I have sorted a problem I have had for over 1 year now. After the motor went on my compressor I replaced it with a new one of the same type and size as the original. After the replacement it would pump up pressure to about 100 PSI and then struggle and almost stop before...

    Fit for a princess

I made a start on this bed yesterday. This time is is a child's bed with a carriage design. The wheels took some making! The frame was much easier being a basic design. Should get a start on the sides tomorrow. :D

    More boxes

I have been building a couple of cabinets last week. One is a tall unit for files and the other is a small wardrobe to fit over some stairs in a box room. Again these are made in MDF and painted with Morrells 2K. There is a door to go on the tall unit and a rail to fit into the small robe.

    Meter cupboard

Just got this cupboard finished this afternoon....or so I thought as the customer came into the shop and asked if I could paint it along with the under stairs slide outs I have just fitted for him. After some discussion I agreed to hand paint the interior of the slide outs as they are already...

    I'm back!

Well I am back after concentrating on some general woodwork to boost my funds. Earlier this week I made a start on another set of under stairs cupboards, oh ho! This time I took Bob's advice and started with a template. This one is to be three slide out units and I got stuck in making them. I...
