• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Thought I would drop in and say cheers for having me.

Im living in Aberdeenshire, and in the middle of building a workshop.
one man build so its a long and grueling process, came here for motivation, inspiration and conversation.
started building it in the lockdown as I had a lot of free time no pub no social life. The dream is to have a woodshop for pottering about in and doing projects.

Used to visit Aberdeen a lot in the olden days (by that I mean the 1990s) as had a lot of friends studying that way. Lovely place. Apparently it has (had) the best standard of spoken Queen's English in the UK!

I was born in Ellon (well, Queens Cross in Aberdeen was technically where I emerged) before moving in to the metropolis that is Aberdeen. Through my dad's second marriage I had a step-family at Hatton Farm - but that was a long time ago and the marriage didn't last so lost touch a long time ago. I learned to drive there (always in first gear and never in a straight line) an Austin 1100 in a field aged... 9ish. The way we drove I was lucky to see 10 :eusa-dance:
 
does the queen speak the doric? the thought of that makes me laugh. :lol:
small world that people on here have been to the small town I live in
