• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Mike G's comments on the civil service thread got me thinking about spots that would benefit from modifications.

Formula 1. Drivers allowed paint ball pistols to be available for use against opponents as deemed necessary. (Five rounds per player per race.)

Golf. Restrict them to three bats: long and short range wedges and a putter. Make it a race, so they have to run between shots.

Biathlon. Allow rugby style tackles.

Football: Anybody caught play acting may be fouled for the rest of the game. Then a 50k fine.

Tour de France: riders to be given rubber swords which may be used as wished against other riders but not their bikes.

AndyKev? WHAT have you been imbibing? This has got to rank as the most Daliesque thing I've read for a long time! :D

As somebody who has never had any time for sport I can see the merit of making it a lot more fun.
I’ll just say one thing, Golf and the people that are so obsessed by it.

I played golf twice a week for years, have now given up and my gear is about to go on facebook marketplace but I miss playing as well as the social side usually with liquid refreshment involved. Not all golfers are nose in the air obsessive about it though there are plenty of that ilk and they can be abnoxious. You could point the same finger at some woodworkers as well imo and most other activities. Easily spotted by the copious volume of pontificating verbal diarrhea they produce. ;)

I've also followed F1 for years and am a lifelong NUFC supporter so it's a lost cause in my case. :P
