• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

I've been getting a lot of these in my workshop and some in the house, which are part of the same old building, and I despatch about 5 or 6 every day.
They normally appear in the early evening and are less than an inch long, does anyone know what they are?

I don't know what they are. No idea of scale either from your photo. But a question....why do you kill them ? I assume that that is what you mean by 'despatch'.
 
I said they were less than an inch long. I kill them because they are in my workshop where I also store my wood. I thought despatch was a commonly understood word for killing something, I'm certainly not collecting and posting them.

Too big Bob, these are about half the size of that and they all have their antenna pointing forward. They also seem to be very smart, waiting for the moment I take my eyes off them and moving to a dark area where I can't see them. Ninja moths!
 
Google lens not much help. Could you catch one and pin it’s wings out as it might be easier to identify with wings open.

I would like to know why so many of them are appearing in my house and workshop.
They could be living in the loft and have found a route through the ceiling as my house is old with beams and lots of nooks and crannies to hide in. I just wonder what they are eating at this time of year that allows them to reproduce.
