Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

I last went about 8 years ago I think and it was okay but I believe it has scaled back a lot since.
Doug might be along at some point to give his view as I think he’s been recently but if memory serves he had the same view on it scaling down.
I think you’ll be hard pressed to make a two day trip out of it if I’m honest. Unless its changed a lot since I last went then it was a lot of machinery vendors pimping their wares, a lot of low quality second hand tool stalls and not a lot else.
Classic Hand Tools were there and they’re worth a visit but I was underwhelmed and was only there for the day.
Fingers crossed for you it is better than my experience...

I am going on Sunday. I went last year for the first time in a couple of years and there did appear to be fewer exhibitors. I spoke with one of my local tool suppliers who had given it a miss and they said they could not justify it, the cost of set up, staff, accommodation etc was not adequately covered by the sales. There are quite a few demonstrations though especially turning. I agree it would be hard to justify spending two days there. Lots of nice stuff to see though.

I’ve been going to the Harrogate show for more years than I can remember & thoroughly enjoy it, after all that time I’ve got to know a lot of folks, demonstrators & visitors & tend to need to go over 2 days as I spend that much time chatting & catching up one day isn’t enough :lol:
I usually go Saturday & Sunday as Friday is too manic both in the show but also on the roads, sadly this year I can only make the Saturday but am really looking forward to it.

NO I am not on a stand, but visited all the stands there and saw the most amazing instant adhesive demonstration. It seemed to be able to stick anything to anything and you could not pull the items apart after seconds. The guy broke up a 2 inch square tile into 4 pieces and stuck it back together and you could not see the join. He stuck 2 2inch nuts together and after seconds I could not break them apart.
Also there was some associated powder (iron filings ?) that you could pour onto adhesive in layers and it filled in a bolt centre in seconds to a solid filler that could be tapped and filed.
Put this item into my toolbox. I kept buying small things and gathering catalogues, but my rucksack started getting too heavy.
All in all a very good show, but next time I think I could do it in a single day, Just.
Criticism-- 6 Theatres doing demonstrations but no central listing of times/demonstrations in Show Guide so that you could plan out what and when you wanted to see.
Will be going again.
