Ordering sheet material pre-cut to cutlist

Hi,
I'm looking to make some quick simple drawers for my current shed - not to dissimilar to the Malc's drill press stand.

I still haven't got round to making my workshop, so with space and time limited I was thinking of effectively getting a kit cut that I could quickly assembly. Shed a little damp so was thinking some basic no frills ply for the job. Or will MRMDF be ok?

Can anyone recommend somewhere online that will cut sheets down to my cut list to a good accuracy? One place I looked at said cuts were +/-5mm, but was hoping for better than that!!

I accept it'll be an expensive was to do things, but with my given constraints it's a compromise I have to make.

For jobs like this I use a local independent and work with them during the cutting operation. I use a sheet optimiser (maxcut which is free) to prepare the cutting plan and set the cutting kerf to 5-8mm. We normally achieve better than 1 mm accuracy. Maxcut will even print out sticky labels to put on each piece as you cut it.
Mrmdf or ply is your choice. To get void free results you will need to start with top quality ply spending more than mrmdf. If you want nice results from cheaper ply then you can lip the components. Maxcut will cope with this too. It is really good software imho.

Sheet goods can come into similar sizes; 2400 x 1200 or 2440 x 1220 (The latter being close to 8' x 4')

So you need to know what you will be getting before you optimise your cutting plan.

I used a Far Eastern ply 2440x1220 from a local independent building supplier @ £33.78 +VAT.

Agreed. All part of building a relationship with the merchant. A quick call to check the size before the final optimise and arrange a convenient time when they are less busy to do the cuts.

Do you have a B&Q nearby as some of their branches offer a cutting service ?

I used to use https://www.cutwrights.com when I lived in the UK, they give a great cut
and edge band service with sheet sizes up to 3050 x 2070, they will also drill your panels.

Another recommendation for Maxcut, a great piece of (free) software. Only gripe would be it's not Mac compatible.

Enough to make some drawers and a basic frame, so 3 drawers (5/6 pieces each), frame (7-10 pieces) at a guess.

I'm near Towcester, Northamptonshire. Wood I have got from local merchants before has not been great - or at least consistent.

Didn't really think of B&Q, another one to look into.

Based on recent experience buying plywood at B&Q, I have posted this viewtopic.php?f=19&t=3631#p54786

I put it in a separate thread and provided the link as it might get lost in here and suggest a different opinion to that normally given to B&Q as a timber supplier and could be useful to others.

Just had a look at Maxcut and it looks fantastic. Going to try and finalise my plan and then discuss this with some local places. At least it means less effort for them and clearer what needs doing.

Had a look at these and it does look good, but it's showing as £101 delivery for a couple of cut panels - need to check with them now real this is.
