• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Hi All

Does anyone have a good and reputable outlet for Tonk Strips

I have looked at Issac Lords and I'm am looking at around £23/ £24 per strip. I am just wondering if there is anywhere a little cheaper, but not cheap and nasty.

Many thanks for any help.

Hi Richard

Can't help but you might also like to post over on woodworkuk.co.uk as those guys are possibly good for some ideas.

I don't use them a lot but a bookcase I built about 10 years ago used the screwfix ones. Electroplated brass on steel. They seem pretty good - 900 wide shelves holding up well and no sign of the brass tarnishing etc.
Toolstation seem to have something similar too. Both are 1m but you can end butt them for longer runs.

Maybe Alan will see your post (Mailee) - I think he uses them quite regularly.

I bought some from Screwfix, about five years ago, and they have been very good. Just remember to buy the supports, as they are a separate item.

I normally use ironmongery direct for my Tonk strip. Price is pretty reasonable and quality is pretty good too. ;)
