We have a Georgian house grade 2 listed, our understanding is that to use modern mortar causes a lot of problems down the road this is the second time this Roof has been pointed as you can see it’s just not sticking.
But this isn’t actually what I’m asking about, we have just had all the scaffolding put up to replace four chimney pots and the flaunching, I don’t want to waste a lot of money by having to have the scaffolding put up again in six months, shall we use modern mortar? The builder (also a friend) we always use is confident that it will be ok.
