New Country,+ NEW WORKSHOP

Well folks after all the last few years of bouncing around Europe , UK and Florida I have found a nice old house that happens to have a very very large workshop , correction - factory attatched :lol: :lol: :lol:

Price - one would only get 1/3 of a house in the UK , 1/2 in Noord Holland and maybe a house in Florida if your not fussy about the neighbourhood .

Problems - manybut the basic ones , with a mate or two are doable, new kitchen and bathroom, general over haul of electrics and plumbing. Not sure which way to go for heating, but once the house is mine I'll be asking for options here.

BIG PROBLEM - W T F do I do with these - sorry only got 1 on camera it's bigger brother I take a better pic later this week. Anyone know of a musiem that would like it -FTAGH

I've failed at the first hurdle Karl! What does it do? meaty looking motor up there but why all the hand rails?
Exposed gears would have the HSE boys getting excited.
As for museums, my limited experience in rural France as a visitor most machinery in regular use looks like it ought to be in a museum!
As for the stuff offered for sale in their "Vide Grenier" (empty your barn) events look ready for the skip.

Looking forward to watch the conversion work.

It looks like an effing big blacksmiths hammer to me.

You could make it into a piece of industrial art, steampunk, or use it to make railway buffers...

It's certainly to cool to turn to scrap.

it is a " stamper " or as SamQ said a former - this is the baby of the two and yes it is too cool to scarp but if I can't find a group or museum to take it, then 20cts a kilo will pay for a new roof and a small forklift. I need one just to dismantle these beasts.

That’s a tempting project Karl, but looking at the roofs presumably the factory isn’t on that photo?
Would you have enough for a home and a workshop without the factory, perhaps knock it down and keep the big lumps of cast iron as sculptures in the garden, a memory of past times for the locals. Like this huge press left where it stood in Pittsburgh

You've got to be wary that whoever is taking advantage of your good nature isn't simply going to stop off at the scrap yard as soon as they've left your property with it, you might as well weigh it in yourself in that case!
