• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

I built this 'wendy house' about 20 years ago. My kiddy is now 26 and stopped using it a long time ago. For the past few years it was used to store my wadkin spares and general garden tools/chairs etc. It now needs some attention, the roof is rotten and the floor is wonky, a tonne of iron will do that. It is a decent size 12' by 8' and I had the bright idea it would be a nice place to house my ornamental lathes. I recall it cost a few quid to build, for some reason I used 1" ply for the back and sides (felted) and then T&G for the front.
The plan is to replace the roof with corrugated sheets and insulate/board it out. Question for the guru ie Mike, Can I get away with just having a vapor barrier on top of the roof insulation followed by tin sheets or do I need a solid layer like OSB?

Get away with? It's actually the better option. Just make sure you have an air gap over the membrane, and that there is some way for air to get in and out.

All done, got some doors free off facebook, took them to bits. It really is shocking how modern internal doors are made. Bits of polystyrene or honey comb of carboard. I had some nice ash dado that I'd made years ago.

Very ingenious and economical!

Is this going to be your ornamental lathe parlour?

Wood panelling in a shed, now thats posh.:)
I got some mahogany esque cabinets from mother inlaws place also to house some of the nice brass accessories for the lathes.

Yes Andy, I've always liked to old victorian theme, I've put a nice wall clock in also. I did find some lovely william morris strawberry thief wallpaper in my wifes stash but she wouldnt let me have it. I messed up recently, I found 5pairs of heavy gold/red tapestry type curtains in the loft and gave them away last year. They would of been perfect.
